Message from the CEO
Dear colleagues and business partners,
It’s Q2 already.
In the first quarter of 2014, we saw Dubai Healthcare City’s successful participation in Arab Health and the International Medical Travel Exhibition and Conference (IMTEC), and saw it launch its inaugural Clinical Simulation Conference (CSC).
We partnered with the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), paving the way for future collaboration in medical tourism.
DHCC rolled its sleeves to support two causes – the fifth edition of Car Free Day, a Dubai Municipality initiative, during which we used public transport, and the UN International Women’s Day, for which women health professionals from DHCC shared their views - via social media - on various health topics.
To add to the momentum, our 12-month media campaign with CNN kicked off on March 19. DHCC has sponsored CNN’s monthly program Vital Signs, which brings viewers health stories from around the world, and spotlights medical breakthroughs.
In my capacity, in February I presented at the Summit on Sustainable Development in Abu Dhabi. I bring this up for a reason - to remind ourselves that we need to work together to ensure a sustainable healthcare sector. Each one of you has to ensure that hospitals are built with sustainable guidelines and that the national workforce receives the support it needs.
The roster for the next quarter is abundant – events, conferences, and clinical partner openings.
Busy is good, wouldn’t you say?
In April, you will also see the main entrance – by the Dubai Metro station – awash in blue instead of green. This is to support the month dedicated to ‘Light It Up Blue for Autism Awareness’.
Let’s hope for continued momentum.
Best regards,
Marwan Abedin CEO, Dubai Healthcare City |
