Dear Business Partners and Colleagues,

Let me start by wishing you a prosperous 2014!

Going by the last quarter of 2013, the year ahead is promising for the healthcare sector.

Q4 witnessed the most significant announcement – Dubai wins the bid to host World Expo 2020.

The successful bid secures Dubai’s position on a global scale, showcasing its excellence in all its sectors from healthcare to business and customer service. The bid will continue to promote Dubai as one of the world’s leading economies.

For us at DHCC, the World Expo 2020 theme of Connecting Minds, Creating the Future underscores our own ethos. As facilitators of education, research and investment in the medical field, we bring together the world’s top medical minds and acclaimed healthcare providers under one roof.

Together with our business partners, we aim to meet the healthcare needs of residents and medical tourists.
The quarter also witnessed a national brainstorming invite by His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, our founder, to share ideas on healthcare and education. On our part, we contributed with suggestions on medical education, medical training and preventive care.

With this level of support, the healthcare industry can certainly look forward to new opportunities and continued growth.

Again, I wish you success for the year ahead.

Best regards,

Marwan Abedin
CEO of Dubai Healthcare City

DHCC Partner Development Department

In this edition, we are proud to put the spotlight on the DHCC Partner Development Department which was set up a few years ago with the objective of fostering a community spirit among DHCC business partners and promoting their growth and development through internal and external partnerships, networking channels as well as offering learning opportunities.

Several Initiatives have been implemented in 2013 which include conducting networking events under different themes in the form of either a presentation or workshop. These events are conducted on a monthly basis. The networking events increase the chances of referrals among business partners. During 2013, six events were held with a combined number of attendees of 450 from the DHCC community and an average satisfaction score of 88 percent.

We have also launched the Quarterly B2B newsletter to showcase events in DHCC and its community. The newsletter is circulated among the DHCC community, our external database (including the subscription list) and posted on the DHCC website.

Our aim is to increase business partner satisfaction and increase the channels of communication.
